(These would be bullet points, but I’m too lazy to look up the code right now)

— Kid is doing a report on some aspect of astronomy that interests her. She’s torn between doing a project on nebulae (she likes the death/birth cycle in those and thinks that pulsars in them are cool) and a project on the moon. Unfortunately, everything she talks about with the study of the moon are things that are more cultural history and comparative religion and not science-y enough for her teacher’s taste. I’ll keep you updated as she progresses.

— My health and fitness plan is progressing well. I’m now down thirteen pounds from when I started on September 8th and my cardio fitness is starting to come back.

Hooray for Bridgett!

I pushed that link of yours on the racism speech (do did Mack over at “Coyote Chronicles”).

Perhaps your budding PhD should do a paper on the effect that a discovery that the moon IS made of green cheese would do to global dairy markets!

You have to admit – pulsars ARE way cool!

Yes, she’s definitely chosen nebulas — specifically, the Crab Nebula. We found a slow-motion film of the Crab Pulsar and its intermittent strobing. I’m sure she’s going to want to do a PowerPoint and stick that video clip in there so that she can show everyone else.
