Who will sing for me?

While it’s not exactly a Feel Good Friday cut, it seems appropriate to post Uncle Paul singing “Who will Sing for Me?”. Here’s him in the late 1980s with the Traditional Grass. Mark Rader is the guitarist and sings lead, my cousin Joe’s on banjo, and Glen Inman’s on bass.

A nice tribute video for your uncle. I could swap all of the commercial county ucis on the radio for bluegrass, it’s like the difference between plain white wonderbread and a really good sourdough.

I’ve not seen/heard any bluegrass before, so this was a treat.

Bridgett:

I went to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival a couple of weeks back and there were several groups that were as traditional as the one you linked to. That is some nice music in that video you provided.

Democommie, do you like Longview? That was Joe’s old group. He’s now moved on to a group called the Radio Ramblers — he’s got a radio broadcasting day job, so I’m not sure if he’s traveling much outside of the Ohio/Ky/TN/VA corridor, but they’re worth hearing if you get the chance.

Bridgett:

I just gave them a quick listen, quite good.
