My Beautiful Wickedness

Not bad.

Well, I worked all day and I’m good and sore and tired. The offending fence came down and is now tied up in neat little nail-less bundles, ready for the woodchipper. (Yes, I pulled every damn nail out. Because I’m just that-a-way. If the city’s going to chip it for me, the least I can do is to not frag their workers with bits of rusty nail.) I did some unanticipated pruning (yes, definitely the wrong season but the tree limb was blocking my clothesline and I use my clothesline a lot) and hauled all that stuff to the front of the house too. Most of the stuff that needs to go to the dump is out on the curb; the rest (real heavy crap) will go tomorrow. We buzzed our micro-lawn with our reel mower — that took about three minutes. Hamburgers were eaten and doll clothes adorned with embroidery.

Now, however, I have to face the fact that I’ve had a delightful weekend but have not done any class prep whatsoever. Oops. I’ll be giving a test for the first 90 minutes of class, so I have to brush off my lecture on the major social and cultural trends of the first half of the 18th century in colonial North America and hope that they read Franklin’s autobiography like I assigned it. If they haven’t read it, we move on to the Great War for Empire…geez, three more days and I’m done for this course. Incredible!
