Slavery just 30 minutes from my house…. Wow, that’s comforting….

My husband has taught at Ole Miss. I guess after spending a little time hanging around The Grove on a football weekend, I’m not surprised that the parents of his students think this is an ok way to treat people.

Today a colleague of mine was talking to an older student who runs a horse farm near here. When she asked the student how she and her husband managed to keep the place running (this is not a rich family – even by local standards) she replied – “Oh, we’ve got five Mexicans.”

Really? Where do you store them?

You know, the major “immigration reform” we need is some reformation of how we treat immigrants.
