I realize that not everyone has the time or patience to read long monographs and that accessibility might be an issue. So, I thought I’d link up to some sites that have downloadable history podcasts. Browse around, listen to the interview or the lecture, see what historians are up to these days.

I’ll first link you to an old Organization of American Historians site from their radio show, Talking History. TH used to air weekly, but was done in by budget cuts in 2006; maybe it will come back some day.

A somewhat eclectic offering of Environmental History lectures and interviews can be downloaded here. I thought that Podcast 7 (about using ships logs as a way of getting at climate history) offered an interesting methodology, but it might not be your cuppa tea.

The Henry Ford Museum offers this selection of podcasts concerning political life from the Civil War up to 9/11 to accompany its exhibit, With Liberty and Justice for All.

There’s a ton of these sites. Stay tuned.
